The Gibraltar Pro Hi Hat Clutch utilizes Gibraltar's "Super Grip" clamping mechanism which will not scar the hi hat pull rod. This means you don't have to tighten your top hat as much to get it to stay put, which means the stand won't strip and will last longer. It will fit onto any 8mm thick rod.
